Student will learn how the Church year is divided as a calendar

TIME: Two 45-minute class periods

MATERIALS:
Kids Explore America’s Catholic Heritage - pages 81
Books that might contain an example of the liturgical calendar (an upper level Religion book might have one)
Compass, protractor (or circular patterns to trace), ruler, colored pencils, crayons

ACTIVITIES:
1. Discuss calendars and how they are divided
2. Discuss how the Catholic Church year is divided.
3. Students draw, label, and color a liturgical calendar.
